Fruits for Stroke Prevention

Hello Guys, Based on data on stroke in 2012, the American Stroke Association said the figure was 795,000 people, in America alone. That means every 40 seconds there is one person who has a stroke.

This vascular disease can be caused by blockage of blood flow - called an ischemic stroke - or rupture of blood vessels so that blood flow does not reach the brain - which is called a hemorrhagic stroke.

A common symptom of stroke is the death of a sensor or part of the body's response due to damage to brain tissue. Many people already know that eating fruit can be beneficial for health, but few know that fruit can also prevent stroke. What are the fruits in question? as follows:

Tomato

Many people eat tomatoes just to make food more delicious. But it turns out the womb has many benefits. The results showed that the content of lycopene, a red substance in tomatoes, can reduce the risk of stroke in adult men.

The research reported in the journal Neurology involved 1,031 adult male subjects divided into four groups. At the start of the study, there were 25 cases of stroke from 258 men whose blood levels of lycopene were small.

Meanwhile, there were only 11 cases of stroke from 258 men with high blood lycopene levels. Dr. Jouni Karppi, from the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio, stated, "This research adds to the evidence that the diet of fruits and vegetables in the diet is very important to reduce the risk of stroke."

Citrus

Eating oranges, or the like, always imaged a healthy life. But, apparently not only that. The results of research reported in the journal Stroke conclude that citrus fruits and the like, reduce up to 19 percent risk of ischemic stroke, which is caused by blocked blood vessels to the brain.

This discovery is part of Nurses' Health Study research, and involved nearly 70,000 women. The researchers looked at levels of flavonoids found in various citrus fruits, and they concluded that everyone is recommended to eat 2-4 servings of such fruits per day to reduce the risk of stroke.

Previous studies have found that vitamin C and potassium, both of which are in high levels in these fruits, can also help protect against heart disease and stroke.

Noni

Noni Fruit is famous for its ability to keep blood pressure stable. Therefore Noni juice is often used to reduce blood pressure in people with high blood pressure, and thus prevent stroke.

Noni fruit contains xeronin, also rich in vitamins and other minerals, which can improve body function so that it can be used for stroke therapy.

Apple

"An apple a day, you will never see a doctor," so the western proverb says. Yes, many nutritionists agree with that. An apple a day can reduce the risk of stroke by 50 percent.

This fruit is rich in quercetin content which is proven to be able to overcome inflammation. Of course this is relevant considering that hardening of the arteries often results from inflammation.

Soy

Soybeans, in the form of milk or other foods, are certainly very tasty. However, soy is also beneficial in reducing the risk of stroke. Soy can reduce cholesterol, especially bad cholesterol (LDL) by 28 percent. This figure is almost equal to the number achieved with statin drugs.

Nuts

Nuts are also good for blood vessel health because they contain a lot of folic acid. According to a 20-year study of nearly 1,000 adult subjects, consuming foods containing high folic acid can reduce the risk of stroke by up to 20 percent.

Well, after knowing about these seven fruits, you must immediately think of starting to consume these fruits. Not only can this fruit reduce the risk of stroke, but we believe it can also prevent various other diseases.
